HydroShield Total: Salt Free Softener, Dual-Action Whole-Home Scale Control System
The UHS-F5T is a salt-free whole house scale control system designed to help prevent scale buildup throughout your home without using salt, electricity, or wastewater. Using advanced scale control technology, it helps protect plumbing, water heaters, fixtures, and appliances while allowing beneficial minerals to remain in the water.
Overview
1. What is it?
The UHS-F5T is a whole house salt-free scale control system that helps prevent hard water minerals from forming scale deposits on plumbing and household appliances. It provides an alternative to traditional water softeners without adding salt or requiring regeneration.
2. Who is it for?
-
Homeowners seeking a salt-free alternative to traditional water softeners
-
Households looking for a low-maintenance water treatment solution

Technology Behind the Scenes & Performance Validation
Interested in the technology behind HydroShield Total? The expandable sections below provide additional technical information, including how the scale-control media works, the scientific principles involved, and performance data from laboratory testing. These resources are intended for customers who would like a deeper understanding of the system's operation and effectiveness.
1. Innovative Multi-Component Alloy Scale Control Technology
A selection of metallic elements with different electronegativities is combined in carefully optimized ratios and subjected to high-temperature melting. The process yields a metallographic alloy with a refined equiaxed crystal structure. The alloy incorporates a uniform distribution of insoluble micro-galvanic cells, which lowers the reactivity of Calcium and Magnesium ions to prevent the formation and buildup of the scales.

2. How it works technically?
-
Stop Scale Before It Sticks:
As water flows through our system, it interacts with our special multi-component alloy. This changes how calcium crystals form—making them smaller, rounder, and less sticky. Instead of clinging to surfaces, they stay suspended in the water and get flushed away. That means fewer deposits on your pipes, heating elements, and fixtures.
Solid-Liquid-Electron Interaction

-
Breaks Down Existing Scale:
Our multi-component alloy also reduces water’s surface tension, helping it seep between the scale layer and the surface it’s stuck to. Over time, this causes the hardened scale to soften, crack, and detach naturally—without harsh chemicals or manual scraping.
3. Surface Tension Reduction Value Test
This test helps measure how well the anti-scale alloy prevents scale buildup in water systems. It does this by checking changes in the water’s surface tension.
How it works:
-
First, the surface tension of untreated water is measured (Fq).
-
Then, the surface tension of the same water is measured again after being treated with the anti-scale alloy (Fh).
-
The difference between the two values is the surface tension reduction value (ΔF):
ΔF=Fq-Fh
What it means for you:
-
If the reduction value (ΔF) is 2 mN/m or higher, the anti-scale alloy shows excellent performance in stopping scale from forming.
-
In simple terms, the bigger the reduction, the better the protection against scale.
The Surface Tension Reduction Value is Much Larger than 2 mN/m

4. SEM Analysis
To evaluate the effect of the special anti-scale alloy, scanning electron microscope (SEM) images were taken after 60 days for both treated and untreated samples.
Experimental Group (Treated with our Anti-scaling Alloy - 60 days

•The calcium carbonate formed is mainly in the vaterite structure.
•This structure is loose and porous, and not mixed with other minerals.
•
•The scale is less compact, making it easier to be carried away by water flow rather than sticking to surfaces.
Control Group (No Anti-scaling Alloy Treatment - 60 days )

•The calcium carbonate is primarily in the calcite form.
•
•This structure is dense and crystalline, often combined with other minerals.
•
•The resulting scale is sticky and adheres strongly to surfaces, leading to persistent deposits on pipe and equipment walls.
Field Observation
Sampling analysis confirmed that in the treated group, most scale formation shifted into a loose and amorphous form, reducing its ability to adhere and cause buildup.
5. Anti-corrosion
When scale builds up on surfaces, it can also trigger alkaline scale corrosion, which slowly damages pipes and equipment. By reducing scale deposits and making them less sticky, our solution also helps protect your system from corrosion, keeping it stronger and lasting longer.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is a salt-free scale control system the same as a water softener?
No. A salt-free scale control system helps prevent hard water minerals from forming scale deposits, while a traditional water softener removes hardness minerals from the water through an ion-exchange process.
2. Does the UHS-F5T require salt or electricity?
No. The UHS-F5T operates without salt, electricity, chemicals, or regeneration cycles. This helps reduce maintenance and eliminates wastewater associated with traditional water softeners.
3. Will the UHS-F5T help protect my appliances?
Yes. By helping prevent scale buildup, the UHS-F5T can help protect water heaters, dishwashers, washing machines, plumbing fixtures, and other water-using appliances from hard water scale deposits.
4. Can the UHS-F5T be used with other water treatment systems?
Yes. The UHS-F5T can be combined with whole house filtration systems and reverse osmosis drinking water systems as part of a complete home water treatment solution.
